Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC) is seeking a talented Business Analyst to support our US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the role of a Business Analyst on one of several agile software development teams on a large large-scale Federal software development program for our US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client
  • Coordinate with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Subject Matter Experts, Stakeholders, and the development and testing team to elicit and define a shared understanding of functional and non-functional requirements
  • Elicit, define, and produce business process models.  Knowledge of standards and best practices (e.g. BPMN) preferred
  • Produce requirements visualization in the form of UI Mockups, wireframes, UI/UX design, flow diagrams, and business process modeling
  • Facilitate JAD sessions with Product Owners, SME’s, end users, and stakeholders
  • Write User Stories along with corresponding acceptance criteria, and maintain the product backlog
  • Assist Product Owner in scoping and prioritizing functionality and grooming the product backlog
  • Act as team scrum master and facilitator as necessary along with Product Owner and team leads
  • Support CBP project managers in the preparation for project milestone reviews and critical decision points
  • Facilitate meetings with Product Owners, SMEs, stakeholders and team members and capture requirements, decision points, and/or meeting minutes
  • Work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Function as part of an integrated team sharing products, best practices, and information across the portfolio

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing Communications, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent related business/technical discipline
  • 4-5 years of Business Analysis experience
  • U.S Citizenship is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security and full background investigation to include but not limited to criminal history, financial history and creditworthiness, employment and education verification, and drug testing.
  • Must have client-facing experience eliciting requirements and strong knowledge and experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
  • Experience working in a consulting environment and an understanding of client relations on a large Federal program.  Prior experience working on CBP projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience eliciting functional and non-functional requirements from business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong experience defining and mapping business process models, and documenting User Stories and Use Cases .  Knowledge of BPMN is a strong plus
  • Experience with software UI/UX design and UI design tools: Axure, JustInMind, iRise
  • Experience with JIRA and Atlassian Suite is highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Experience working with the following software products: Atlassian Tool Suite (especially JIRA), Microsoft Visio,  Microsoft® Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple assignments at once, and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction from supervisors or clients
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Expert-level command of the English language
